Jesus Centered Life
Jesus Centered Free Time
1 John 2:15-17, James 4:4-5, Romans 12:2
Why is it that we are attracted to the very things which can destroy us? Explain bungee jumping?
How do we maintain a Jesus Centered life in a world that is so pleasing to the flesh?
1.         Don’t Love the World  vs. 15
Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love the world, you show that you do not have the love of the Father in you. NLT

2.        Don’t be a Friend of world (or you are enemy of God) James 4:4-5
4You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (NIV)

3.        Don’t Conform to the World Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. NLT

Busy????

Taking the time to do the important stuff sometimes consumes our lives..... This leaves us feeling shallow and purposeless as humans. Only engulfing ourselves in the arms of Jesus and His perfect will can over power this enemy of peace to ourselves and family. Focus this week on those things that are important to Jesus, those things He wants you to full-fill. Just ask Him He will tell you..... but just be ready to follow Him. In most cases you will be cutting a lot of "important stuff" out ..

Christ Centered Family

Christ Centered Family

This Week we will finish looking at a Christ centered family, most of these points are from the Focus on the Family website .

Joy is characteristic of a truly Christian home.
Happiness is a result of what happens to us. Joy has deeper roots.
      A Christian home is orderly.
, "God is not the author of confusion but of peace" (I Corinthians 14:33).
A Christ-centered home should be marked by grace.
A Christian home is a place of service. Colossians 3
Its atmosphere
Christ-centered wives are submissive (Col 3:18)
Christ-centered husbands are loving and tender (Col 3:19)
Christ-centered children are obedient (Col 3:20)
Christ-centered fathers are encouragers (Col 3:21)
A Christ-centered home is a place where the spiritual disciplines are practiced.
Deuteronomy 4:9
(9)  Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;
A Christian home is based on God's purposes for every member of the household. It's a place where the family's goals are founded upon His values and where the corporate vision of the future is consistent with His plan.

It's a household of which it can truly be said, "Christ is the Head of this house, the Unseen Guest at every meal, the Silent Listener to every conversation."
